Discover our innovative concept of ground screws for decks. Made up of a harpoon head screw, our ground screw is designed to be pushed into loose soil and enable you to create a perfectly stable structure intended to receive a cross joist.
The Ground screw is very easy to install , thanks to tools adapted to simplifying installation. A robust manual tool with large lever arm (1.6 m) to facilitate screwing and an adaptor for electrical screwing tool (Makita TW1000 type) with 41 mm bushing
- Hot deep galvanized
- Metal thickness 3 mm
- Length = 850mm
- Diameter= 100mm
- + L square on screw – adjustable
Ground Screw Set
The depth of the screw thread is 60 mm. The diameter and depth of threading are important parameters for accepting loads up to one ton per screw, depending on the nature of the land.
Our L-shaped support is delivered with an adjustable bracket on a 25 cm long threaded rod
The diameter of the threaded rod is 16 mm. The bracket is adjustable in width by several centimetres to receive structure beams.
Installation tooling set
Manuel Tooling screw
The screwing bar is composed of a pre-drilled mast to enable the height adjustment of the tightening bar throughout screwing.
Hexagon socket for power wrench
The Hexagon socket 41mm for nut runner is compatible for instance with the Makita TW1000.

Ground Screw Certified NF P 94-150-1
The NIVO® Ground Screw has been tested according to the French Standard NF P 94-150-1 in an A1-type silty-clay backfill (*).
Because of soil diversity, tests were conducted on “slightly to moderately compact backfill ” (measurement by penetrometer survey – Qd index = 2.7MPa**) in order to test Ground Screws in relatively unfavourable conditions and allow the largest possible scope of application.
Compression static loading tests have thus demonstrated the resistance of NIVO Ground Screws up to 900 kg before rupture for a 75 cm anchor (700 kg for a 65 cm anchor).
These test conditions thus enable us to define a nominal load of 450 kg for a Ground Screw anchored at 75 cm in slightly to moderately compact backfill. Correlated with loads of 150 kg/m² as imposed by DTU 51.4 (“Exterior wooden decking”) for type 1 decking, the NIVO® Ground Screw is perfectly adapted to residential use in deck structures
– 1 Ground Screw for 2 m² (see NIVO® installation manual).
(*) Classification of soils depending on their nature (ranked from A to D – from fine soils to water-resistant soils)
(**) Measurement of soil resistance (Qd <2.2: very light at Qd > 5: very heavy)
Faster than concrete pedestals
We no longer have to dig up the soil or pour concrete!
It is faster and therefore cheaper. High resistance to compression
High resistance to compression
With an acceptable load of 450 kg/m² and rupture at 900 kg on slightly to moderately compact backfill, NIVO Ground Screws have a resistance to compression perfectly adapted to use in deck structures. These properties enable us to space out beam support points every 2 m and section joists about every metre
Easy to install with adapted tooling
We have developed specific tools for quick and easy implementation:
- A robust manual tool with large lever arm (1.6 m) to facilitate screwing
- An adaptor for electrical screwing tool (Makita TW1000 type) with 41 mm bushing
Enables cross joisting
The dimensions of the fastening bracket are outlined in order to adopt the deck installation technique called “cross joisting” and therefore increase the resistance of your decking.
Ground screw Installation
Simplified installation thanks to our assembly kits
Manual installation kit: Adjustable-height assembly bar
The screwing bar is composed of a pre-drilled mast to enable the height adjustment of the tightening bar throughout screwing. (video)
- Tightening bar, 160 cm in width and 3 mm thick.
- 3 bolts + nuts are used to attach the tool on the screw.
Screwing must be conducted by 2 people
Electrical installation kit: Adaptor for MAKITA TW1000 impact driver
The 41mm diameter bushing adaptor is compatible with the Makita TW1000 impact driver.
- 3 bolts + nuts are used to attach the adaptor on the screw.
- Screwing can be conducted by 1 person
- Screwing time per screw = 5 min
